Deposit

To secure the tour operating, a per person deposit (depending on group size) is required at the time of booking. Select the group size when booking.

This deposit confirms the departure regardless of final group size and allows us to schedule vehicles, farm access, and staffing in advance.

At the time of pickup:

1. If you have booked for a small group and more crew book a refund of the difference will be applied. e.g you book for 3 crew and then become 7 crew, a refund of the difference will be provided.
2. If you have booked for a larger group and only less actually book show up e.g booked group size of 5 crew & only 3 book/pay the deposit then additional charges for the smaller group apply. To be paid direct to driver at pick up.

Your whale watching ticket must be purchased directly with Whale Watch Kaikōura prior to booking transport with us.

Recommended sailing: 10:15am BOOK HERE

If this time is unavailable, please select the next best option and advise us of your confirmed time before booking.

🚐 Tour Overview

Departure Time:

Hotel pick-up time will be confirmed based on your whale watching departure time.

Drive Time: Approx. 2 hours to Kaikōura

Upon arrival:

1. Check in for your whale watching cruise
2. Free time before or after your cruise (depending on your sailing time) to explore the township, enjoy the waterfront, or have lunch

🐋 Whale Watching Experience

Kaikōura is one of the few places in the world offering year-round whale watching. Sightings may include:

1. Giant sperm whales
2. Dusky dolphins
3. Fur seals
4. Albatross and other seabirds

🦭 Seal Colony Visit

We visit the coastal seal colony at Point Kean Seal Colony, where you may see large groups of New Zealand fur seals resting along the shoreline.

🍷 Optional Winery Stops (Return Journey)

On the drive back to Christchurch, there may be an opportunity to stop at one or two wineries in the Waipara region for tastings.

Please note:

1. Stops are subject to departure time from Kaikōura
2. Wine tasting fees are payable directly at the winery

🕒 Return to Christchurch

Estimated hotel arrival: Approx. 6:00pm

(Final timing is dependent on cruise schedule and departure from Kaikōura.)
